CALL review 1

A collocation is a grouping of words in a sentence. By the way, it's hard to find and use in class. So there are some CALL tools devised for finding it. "Just the Word"(http://www.just-the-word.com/) is good for finding collocation and its usage. "British National Corpus (BNC)"(http://corpus.byu.edu/bnc/) and "Corpus of Contemporary American English (COCA)"(http://corpus.byu.edu/coca/ or http://www.americancorpus.org/) are good for finding collocation in detail. Also, you could "google" the usage of collocation in web sites. "OneLook Dictionary"(http://www.onelook.com/), "Cambridge Online Dictionary" (http://dictionary.cambridge.org/results.asp?searchword=girl&dict=B) and "Visuwords" (http://www.visuwords.com/) are also good CALL tools. If you want to use dictionary off-line, you can download "Wordsmith Tool" at http://www.lexically.net/wordsmith/. In addition, you can create crossword puzzle to learn vocabulary. "EclipseCrossword" helps us create crossword puzzle and print or post it on the web. You can download at http://www.eclipsecrossword.com/ and use it for free.
